School Journals are a fantastic resource to help improve reading abilities.Freyberg Literacy Centre has a large store of the following SJ publications: School Journals, School Journal Story Library, Choices, Junior Journals and Journal of Secondary Students' Writing.
Since 2011, Journals have been alligned with the NZ Curriculum levels 1-4.
Topics span across subject areas so you are bound to find texts that suit your topic or instructional purpose!

School Journal publications now have Teacher Support Materials, including lessons plans, available online.
Jounals at Curriculum Level 2 also have some MP3 audio support available online.

Access to Journals at Freyberg

The Journals are stored in Literacy Resource Centre - L3. You need to borrow a key from the Acting Literacy Coordinator - Leigh Scott. (Sometimes L3 is used as a classroom space, so check KAMAR for when it is free.)
You can search for appropriate journals on Journal Surf online (see picture-link below) or feel free to browse the journals on the shelves.
TO BOOK JOURNALS:
Open this file to see if the journals you want are available.
Email Leigh the title details and the number of books you will be borrowing. She will enter the details into this file and save a new copy.
When you return the journals, email Leigh so she can update the file.
